Leland Coffman

Leland Franklin Coffman, 89, of 901 N. Main St., Normal, died at 11 p.m., Tuesday (June 4, 2002) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
 
His celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Friday at Evangelical Free Church, Bloomington, the Rev. Robert Holsinger officiating. Burial will be in Weldon Cemetery, Weldon. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington.
 
Memorials may be made to McLean County Nursing Home or Evangelical Free Church.
 
He was born Sept. 2, 1912 in Weldon, a son of Charles Franklin and Gertrude McDonald on March 2, 1946 in Bloomington. She survives.
 
Also surviving are one daughter, Linda E. (Robert) Winterland, Fairbury; one sister, Vera Johnson, Savoy; one stepgranddaughter; two nephews, David Coffman, Mansfield and C. Richard Coffman, Muscatine, Iowa; one niece, Sherilyn Clark, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; eight great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Lynn Coffman.
 
He retired in 1976 from Bloomington Public Schools after 44 years of teaching. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education at Illinois State Normal University.
 
He was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed times with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening and reading.
