BLOOMINGTON - Clifford L. Drew, 86, of Bloomington, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday (Nov. 9, 2007) at his family residence.
His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, the Rev. Vaughn Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Memorials may be to the Cancer Fund, American Heart Association or Bloomington High School.
Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 5, 1921, in Hillsboro, the son of Frank W. and Susie Carriker Drew. He married Florence Mix on May 26, 1946, in Weldon. Florence passed away April 9, 1998.
Survivors include a special niece who was like a daughter, Robin Hughes, Bloomington. Other survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.
Clifford was a graduate of Blackburn College and the University of Illinois. He was a school teacher, teaching in Deland, LeRoy, Farmer City, Washington Grade School, Bloomington Junior High and Bloomington High, where he retired. He was a member of Lodge No. 43, AF & AM, Bloomington Consistory, Mohammed Temple Shrine, Bloomington Shrine Club.
He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. He spent winters in Mesa, Ariz.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, including his great friend, Bob Handley.
