
BLOOMINGTON — William E. “Bill” Wingett, 63, of Bloomington died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 16, 2008) at his residence.
His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, with food and fellowship to follow at the Wingett family home in Bloomington. The Rev. Greg Summers will officiate. As William’s wishes, his body will be donated to science. Cremation rites will be accorded at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to the family. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangments.
He was born June 13, 1945, in Terra Haute, Ind., a son of John Paul Wingett and Esther Mae Graham. He married Paula Jones on Nov. 28, 1986, in Bloomington. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Thomas Wingett of Bloomington, James Edward (Carmen) Wingett of Wisconsin, Randall (Angel) Wingett of Bellflower, and Pamela Maxine (Starkey) Hedger of Normal; stepchildren, Shane (Brenda Lamberti) Tallon and Julie Knight of Bloomington; sisters, Paula (Ted) Pershal of Arkansas and Nancy Wingett of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are William’s two best friends, Stan Swearingen and Joe Frost.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald “D.J.” Wingett.
William was a longtime employee for Darnall Concrete for 20 years. William graduated from Bloomington High School. He was a member of the Teamsters local 26.
Bill was an avid fisherman and liked to frequent Denny’s Doughnuts. His family would like to thank all the employees and staff for their friendship. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
