Carol Teagle-Dexter
EAST PEORIA - Carol Teagle-Dexter, 69, of East Peoria died on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at OSF Hospital in Peoria. 
She was born on Nov. 17, 1946, in New York, the youngest daughter of Clarence and Henrietta Teagle. They preceded her in death, as did her sister, Barbara. 
She moved to Illinois with her parents in 1953 and attended Eureka College in 1964 and later graduated from Bradley University with a degree in elementary education in 1968 and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. 
She taught in the East Peoria Elementary School District 86 for thirty-three years and mentored many wonderful students. She was a skilled craftsperson who delighted in making beautiful handmade Christmas ornaments for friends and family. 
She is survived by her spouse, Susan V. Dexter; her brother, Sheldon (Irene) Teagle; nieces, Terry Maitino and Corinne Teagle; nephews, Jason (Amanda) Teagle and Eric (Tanya) Teagle; and grand-nieces and nephews, Kayla Maitino, Rachel Maitino, Marissa Nahm, Mason Brown, Quentin Teagle, Josie Teagle and Damean Teagle; as well as dear friend, Kathy Puckett. 
A private memorial service will be held. Dr. Scott Estes will officiate. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association and OSF Medical Center Critical Care Unit.
