The funeral of Pamela Sue Sperlin Bacon, 54, of 408 Grant St., Normal, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington. The Rev. Mark Hughey will officiate. Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington. Beck Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
She died of breast cancer at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2000) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
 
Memorials may be made to the Pam Bacon Fund in care of the family.
 
She was born May 27, 1946 in Bloomington, a daughter of Edmund C. and Hazel Fern Hershbarger Sperlin. She married Jerry L. Bacon in 1969.
 
Survivors include a daughter, Tara Bacon, Normal; and two sisters, Karen Sperlin, 123 Eastview Drive, Normal; and Linda (Mel) Wollenschlager, 1303 Mark Lane, Normal.
 
Also surviving are Nieces, Sally Straub and Molly (Mike) Thomas, both of Normal; a nephew, Steven (Laurel) Straub, Bloomington; and cousins, Steve Sanders and Sally Corby, both of Champaign.
 
Her parents and a sister, Marcia Straub, preceded her in death.
 
Pamela was an accomplisher pianist, having been educated at an early age at Illinois Wesleyan University. She played for weddings and dances with The Dynamics and also volunteered at church services at Western Avenue Community Center, nursing homes, and Blair House.
 
She was a thoughtful person who will be greatly missed by her friends, family, and neighbors.
