John C. Purkey, 42, of 711 Apple St. Normal, died at 11:45 a.m. yesterday (Oct. 11, 1988) at his home. No foul play is suspected.

 

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. David Dees officiating. Mr. Purkey will be cremated.

 

There will be no visitation.

 

He was born July 1, 1946 in Bloomington, a son of Royal J. and Ella Meves Martinovich Purkey.

 

Survivors include his mother, 1402 E. College Ave., Normal; a daughter, Ginger Romine, 211 Saratoga Road, Normal; a brother Robert Fenn, Dousman, Wis.; and a sister, Dona Meredith, 1213 N. Colton Ave., Bloomington.

 

Mr. Purkey, a Viet Nam era veteran, was a supervisor at Illinois Graphics Inc. in Bloomington for 17 years and later was a pressman for Wright Printing Co., Bloomington.
