In Memory

Beverly Lowery (Berry)

Beverly Lowery (Berry)

Beverly Ann Berry, age 74, went to Heaven on December 4, 2020. She was married to Silas Berry for 54 adventurous, fruitful, and loving years.

Born in Carlock, Illinois, she was the daughter of Paul and Ruth Lowery and the sister of Janet and Karol as well as Jack and Marilyn who passed before her. Silas and Beverly have four daughters- Stephanie, Sonia, Rochelle, and Rebecca, and they became second parents to their four son-in-laws - Jonathan Stewart, Bob Dykhuizen, Brian Lujan, and Todd Jordan. Together they have twelve grandchildren (and 5 married-in grandchildren) and 11 great-grandchildren (and counting). They also have one grandson, Grant, and two great-grandsons, Jax and Wesley, in Heaven. The example set by Silas and Beverly inspires every marriage that has followed theirs, each couple hoping to share the love, sense of adventure, and solid foundation of God at the center.

Beverly attended Clinton Community College and received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1983. She was a great advocate for all of her patients, but her gift of caring for others went beyond her profession. Beverly was a nurturer for any person hurting and remained faithful in prayer for those she didn't even personally know.

Her profound legacy stretches far and wide, as Silas and Beverly have family and friends across the country, and it was Beverly's priority to remain connected with loved ones, whether she was having daily marco polo conversations or pulling up the RV to spend the week at someone's house. Silas and Beverly often spent time with their best friends, Charlie and Sandy Skelton as travel partners, making memories in Alaska, RVing all over the U.S., and more recently when Sandy came to care for her best friend since seventh grade in Arizona as Beverly's health declined.

Beverly was a member of Desert View Bible Church in Phoenix, Arizona. She enjoyed watching the birds and the sunrise in her garden. She loved to dance. She was great at fixing things and was very determined when taking on a project.

Beverly will be missed by all who knew her, but the wisdom she imparted, her funny sense of humor, and other countless memories will never be forgotten by those whom she loved.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St. Phoenix, AZ 85020. A visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 am, service at 11:00 am, and a reception to follow. Live-streaming: (https://www.facebook.com/hansenmortuary/live_videos). Beverly will be buried at Mackinaw Township Cemetery in Mackinaw, IL.
