Sharon Kay Carter-Mayfield, 72 of Bloomington, passed away at 2:44 AM Wednesday September 5, 2018 at her residence. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be a visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 on Monday September 10th at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Sharon was born March 30, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Evelyn Bremer Harrison. She married Garel Mayfield December 29, 1998. He survives She is also survived by 2 sons, William Carter; Daniel (Kim) Carter. 2 step sons, John (Angie) Mayfield; Jeremy (Alicia) Mayfield, One sister Sandy Gordon, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, 3 sisters, Judy Turner; Barb Eades; and Patty Mayer, 1 brother, Michael Harrison, and 1 grandchild. Sharon worked at the Eureka Company for 22 years until closing. She then worked at TI Automotive for 10 years before retiring. She was an avid NASCAR fan and Days of Our Lives watcher. She also enjoyed scuba diving, canning and sewing. She loved being with her family and enjoying life with family and friends.
