Rodney Owen Brown, 78, of Bloomington, passed away at 3:08 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. He was born September 14, 1945, in Bloomington, the son of William Edward and Ina Jean (Harris) Brown. He married Patricia A. Sipowicz on October 30, 1965. She survives him. He is also survived by two sons, Chris (Kelli) Brown of El Paso and Jeff (Erin Porter) Brown of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Jarret and Aron (Marcus) Tewell; five great grandchildren, Layla, Natalie Anne, Jamison Owen, Spencer and Kaleigh; one brother, Robert Edward (Paula) Brown of Florida and one sister, Debba (John) Sweeney of Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. Rodney graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964 and had several jobs over the years. He had been a milk man, worked construction and later worked at ISU. A private family service will be held. Entombment will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, McLean. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Central Illinois or Illinois CancerCare.
