Marshall Fannin

LeROY — Marshall Lee Fannin, 69, of LeRoy, passed away at 9:42 a.m. Monday (March 14, 2016) at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. His funeral will immediately follow at noon Saturday. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, Wapella. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Marshall was born June 1, 1946, in Levelland, Texas, a son of Vernal and Lois Darland Fannin. His mother survives. He married Rayona Wills on July 27, 1963, in Juarez, Mexico. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son, Marshall (Michelle) Bradley Fannin, Tennessee; daughters, Tammy (Bill) Bowman, Argenta, and Kim (Steven) Smith, Stanford; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne (Lola) Fannin, Texas; Jerry Fannin, LeRoy; and Jimmy (Lynda) Fannin, Missouri; and one sister, Joyce (Steve) VanVleet, Decatur.

Marshall worked at Firestone for 11 years before owning and operating Fannin's Texaco and Towanda Plaza Mobil service stations in Bloomington for more than 15 years. In his free time, Marshall was an avid treasure hunter. His most memorable times were spent with his family and with his friends at Doris'. Most of all he loved restoring his ’65 Mercury Comet.

Marshall was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
