For this one, I'm sticking close to home. We may not have palm trees, but the beaches of Lake Michigan are extraordinary.

Mel, Marv, Max, Boo, et. al.,

Your turn to pick a subject or theme for tomorrows pictures.  I'm back to fundraising efforts tomorrow and Dorothy and I have a tee time on Tuesday moring.  Look forward to some interesting ideas.  We need to get Julie Hart into this mix with all her travels.

You know what?  Love you all!

Congratulation Terri. Love the celebration post. Looking forward to real pics now.

Just to be clear - The theme for tomorrow is Your Happy Place. I am starting to think this website is our happy place because it has been so much fun seeing all of these cool places.

Who wants to volunteer for setting theme for Tuesday?

My suggestion for Tuesday's subject is... "Architecture."  Any building that interests you can be posted.

Great Ideas for both Monday (Happy Place) and Tuesday (Architecture)!  How about (IN_LAWS) for Wednesday?

Happy Place is a challenge,  it instead of showing my house, I always like it when we ski at Sun Valley

My happy place is on my bike on the Chicago lakefront especially on rare occasions when Judy, my nephew (Mel's son) and my niece are tagging along as pictured. It is even better when dining with my pals afterward (picture is at Porky's Bayside in Marathon Florida).

Like Wendy said, this is a hard one. Boo, what a fabulous koi pond and garden. That could be everyone's Happy Place. I'm posting a photo of my condo decked out for Christmas. Because of water damage, I wasn't able to decorate this year, but when everything is up, it is My Happy Place.

Perhaps more than any other, my happiest place was my friend's dacha in Shestakovo, Russia overlooking the Volga River. The dacha is about 250 years old with well water, an outhouse and a banya (sauna). Hanging fish out to cure, going mushroom hunting. feeding hedgehogs, and eating shashlik (shishkabob) are only part of it. Evenings were spent in the company of a violinist, a folk singing guitarist, artists, and people reciting the poems of Pushkin. Did I mention the vodka?

OK, I spent a lot of time with photos and put together a whole word document with pictures, only to have our paste option generate text instead of the actual photos.  So, leaving it to your imagination when reading the descriptions - I think you'll come to the conclusion that my Happy Place isn't really a place but it's a feeling when surrounded by friends and those you love.  Heck, there's even a picture of my squad in Vietnam, and while that wasn't a very happy place, we could still feel happiness and love being with our friends.  I'm always happy to be around my classmates!

Marvin, I've taken the old Fuji on the Lake Shore Trail. That is a "Must Do"! In my opinion, that is a Top 3 for anyone's Bucket List!  Caution....May be windy!  Check-out Cloud Gate while you'rer there.

Toronto, Ontario city hall one summer night in 1973. Beautiful city. This was probably their best example of contemporary architecture at the time but there were other examples.

Thanks Mel, for the encouragement and the phone call.

Dave -- Those Swedish girls look underage to me. Well, under age 50, anyway. That's my definition of a spring chicken these days.

Cool picture, Jack!  I have two..  the first is the Space Needle, since I live in Seattle.  The second is a museum in Melbourne, Australia.

Yea Jack Keefe. Great start!!! And Wendy, your photos are spectacular. Is that Federation Square in Melbourne? Max, where is this and what are all those boxes?

In 2003, I worked with Landmarks Illinois to save the Edith Farnsworth House by Mies van der Rohe located in Plano, Illinois. In 2008, Landmarks invited me to create a calender of photographs and gave me free rein to the property, day and night and all seasons, which not only resulted in a 2009 calendar but a book of over 60 photographs. These are a few of them.

Welcome to the fun Jack! Wow, does this class know how to be happy!!! Skiing at Sun Valley, relaxing by your own private koi pond, Russian countryside, lakefront bike rides, enjoying beautiful music - Rocky Mountain High, and I Will Always Love You, treasured time with your wonderful grandchildren. There are soooo many places to be happy. These are all great.

Max thanks for the ARCHITECTURE suggestion. It is really hard to limit this one.

It looks like Dave's IN-LAWS suggestion is tomorrows theme.

Wendy - Since you have been such a consistant participant I thiought you might like to suggest a theme. What theme would you suggest for Thursday?
