This was the Bloomington Club. It was on the other side of the courtyard from Wither's on Washington St.

Is it not still there?

Holly, your youngest Grandson is a doll.  Our youngest is 6 and our oldest is 12 (pre-teen).  We have 7 total Grandchildren!  They're all so very SPECIAL!

It was torn down many years ago.

Holly, you're headed back to Denver and missing The Big Game where Stanfurd will experience its next disappointment?  Perhaps a good idea after all.  Never the less your grandson looks great!  My mother has 12 great-grandchildren and still has an open bench.

Steve, I was born in Lodi but live today in the Bay Area. Could one ever exhaust a conversation about wine?  The neat thing about wine consumption is regardless of the "experts", there are no wrong answers.  What each individual enjoys is all that matters and particularly if they can enjoy with family and friends.  OK now I'll stop.

Hope all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Mary, I don't know if you look at this site but if so, congratulations!

Steve  --  You'll also see in the Pantagraph that this past week-end, the Texas Brahmas smacked the Bloomington Blaze on Fri. and Sat.  I was like the only one there really yelling for the Blaze.  People thought I was nuts.  All was forgiven when I told them I was born and raised  in B/N.  It helped that the Brahmas won of course.  Now I'm back to being a Brahma fan.

By the way Steve and Jack. I'm out of the Mission and back home.  I cashed in my cans for $12.  Went to the track, had a beer, hot dog, and bet the rest on a Superfecta.  It hit and paid $26,881.17 on $2.  I had $4 on it.  So, after taxes, I paid off the cars, and put money in the bank.  After this week, I think a good bet might be on the Bears.

Steve, I can understand shooting a Moose, but how do you get a Bag big enough for a huge Moose and then put it on.

Jerry, I'm trying to figure out a way to make it to Big Game.  I have a ticket with a friend, but having been running back and forth all fall between SFO and Seattle and Denver and heading to Texas for Thanksgiving, I don't know if I'll be able to swing another quick trip.  I was there less than 48 hours this past weekend.  Soon transportation won't be an issue...I will be in the Menlo Park area most of the time starting this spring and when Joe Tom retires in a few years, he'll be there most of the time, too.  When I have more definite details, I'll get in touch and we can get together again.

I'm shocked you think the Bears have a chance Saturday.  I have faith in my team and have already made some wagers with some Cal friends.  Although it won't be the national championship we had hoped for, a second 12-1 season will do (especially looking at 6 years ago when we were 1-11).

And Mel, I keep forgetting to thank you for the updated Katy Did and Golden Crumbles info.  I am devastated about the Golden Crumbles.  Life will never be the same.

Necia Hart was in town this last weekend and I enjoyed dinner with her, Diane Gardner and Cheri Wombacher.....always good to catch up with friends. She really does not age!

Monday is chemo day around our house. First her port is accessed, then blood drawn and the dr comes in to discuss labs, etc before we go back to the chemo room to begin the treatment. Today, we got the results of the C/T scan Malinda had last Thursday and it was good! The liver has shrunk, the tumor on her lung and the tumor in her spleen have all shrunk. It looks as if, for the time being, we have dodged another bullet.

She will continue on chemo as the treatments make her feel better... go figure

Ed we're keeping both of you in our prayers!  Things sound as though treatment is working!

Rod, you might want to consider buying a lottery ticket. CONGRATULATIONS to you on your win!

Ed...  tell Malinda that we are all thinking about her and glad to hear the good news about the tumors shrinking.

Ed, I've never had the pleasure of meeting Malinda but I have been praying for her.  She is a brave lady!  Hugs to you both.

Terry (Max) Maxwell

Rod...  I think a moose bag is like those big Christmas tree bags, only much larger for a 'big' moose.  (I'm sure they come in small, medium, large, and extra large.) I would coat the inside of the bag with Crisco and then slide the moose in.  Could be wrong, but that's my plan and I'm stickin' to it!  I would also shoot a smaller moose as I think they would be easier to bag.

Steve...  I tried to open the Pantagraph site that you posted, but it wouldn't open for me.  Then I went to pantagraph.com but couldn't find the article there either.

11/14/11 10:29 PM #2306

Terry (Max) Maxwell

Steve...  finally typed the whole thing in and found the article.  That is a big moose!  Congrats to Mary on an awesome hunt.

Rod...  After seeing the picture of that moose... I think she'd better order the 'extra large' bag and probably 5 large cans of Crisco or she'll never get that thing in a there!

I just try to keep BHS CLASS OF 64 adventurous and proud!  BIG bull moose coming soon to Bloomington. I can place a purple and gold ribbon on his neck.  It will take abut 40 yards of ribbon! I will bring moose summer sausage to gatherings and all are welcome to see him.

Rodney (Rod) Hayes

Ed --  That news is absolutely wonderful.  I'm really happy for your family.  Having been there, done that, I know the anxiety and stress it puts on your whole family.  Not to worry about the chemo thing.  That is an example of how much she is willing to fight.  When reports are good, a person sometimes wants to go after whatever seems to be working.  The drawback of chemo becomes secondary to the mind saying, you're getting better, you can beat this, and the near future will be so great.  Always remember that she is not living in the year or month.  She is living in the day.  She is a strong fighter, so keep the faith, and always stay positive.

Rodney (Rod) Hayes

Hey Max  --  What about this.  Shoot the Moose.  Have a wrecker with a winch, pull that bad boy up onto an big open bag, (with crisco), like a car.  Then pull the two sides up and over, (with straps already attached).  Pull the straps tight.  When we get it where we want, we'll winch down.  What do you think.  Or, I guess we could just shear the head off with the rack, and gut it in the field, (like in the old days), and hoist it into a truck bed.  Ya know, this sounds like a lot of work just for a taste of Moose.  Is Moose any good?  I've had bear before.

11/15/11 05:04 PM #2310

Terry (Max) Maxwell

Rod... that sounds pretty good to me.  That's a lot easier than trying to push a dead moose into a greased bag, for sure.

I don't know if moose tastes good or not... I'm more of a steak guy, myself.  Moose n' taters just doesn't have the same ring as steak n' taters for me. Mary said that she would bring moose sausage to the next class reunion. If you really want to know how it tastes... be there.

So if you hook the moose up by the feet is it then considered a toe truck instead of a tow truck?  Just wondering.

TOE TRUCK?

Max, I think you should see a doctor..quickly!
