BLOOMINGTON — Gloria Jean Bell, 64, Bloomington, passed away at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 12, 2010) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Bloomington, with the Rev. Phenues Bush officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home in Bloomington and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the family.

Gloria was born Nov. 6, 1945, in Birmingham, Ala., to Percy and Addie Mae Lewis Brown Sr. She married Milton Bell Jr. in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2003.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Bell and Shamon Bell, both of Bloomington; one daughter, Tosha (Yomi) Bell-Bello, Bloomington; her mother, Addie M. Brown-Johnson, Bloomington; brother, Willie Brown, Bloomington; two sisters, Pearlene (John) Redd-Pitchford, Pontiac, and Cheryl (Curtis) Henry, Bloomington; brother, Aaron Johnson, Bloomington; grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Marcus, Ciera, Jordan, Marcelis, Mercedes, Taniasia and Montreas; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Percy Brown Sr.; and one brother, Percy Brown Jr.

Gloria was a graduate of Bloomington High School and was employed at Country Companies for many years as a supervisor, retiring in 2002.

She was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed restoring antiques, sewing, and cooking. Gloria loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Gloria was a very caring, giving and loving individual and was actively involved in the community helping people.

Gloria gave in death, as she gave in life. Gloria was a tissue donor.
