I was taking a walk in the neighborhood.  Those are hellebores.  Also called by some people "Lenten rose".

Marvin:  You and Judy should make a trip to Mackinac Island.  I went with my Son and his wife in 2015 and it is pretty neat.   I'm sure you agree with me, Sue.

Mel:   Liz is enjoying the pictures, but she doesn't have a printer so she is unable to post any.  She said to tell you Hi and hopes you are doing well.

Dave:  I think the pictures are a great idea.  It gets our minds off of the virus in this day and age when it seems that's all we are hearing about.    And although, it feels like it may never be over, someday it will be and things will hopefully get back to the old normal, instead of this "new normal".

Hope everybody is staying stay and being well.

While waiting for Dave's direction on todays theme, here is an extra animal pic. Poor little guys sad look is as if he is in quarantine. He is a gopher residing in the St. Louis Zoo. He actually was with a lot of his pals not shown so hopefully he was happier than he looked.

Today's Theme - Ta Da.....

How about our beautiful National Parks?!  Your choice of subject matter in the parks, but with a short description of Which Park and When You Visited - you know, a little happy time memory....

This picture was taken during the summer of 2009 at Yellowstone.  Our daughter was in a Teacher - Ranger - Teacher program at Grand Teaton, and when visiting we took a side trip to Yellowstone.  This was back when I had two real legs and could hike some fairly difficult trails.

Niagara Falls is one of my favorites but it is hard to beat the majestic Rockies already posted. Awesomely gorgeous places.

Best I can do is a picture of Mt Rainier from a distance.

Dave, Sandy, Wendy, Marv...love the water and mountains. All fabulous and beautiful.

I chose these three for today's challenge because of the fond memories of the day they were taken in 2002. My daughter and I took a trip to the Southwest and spent two weeks going to Canyon DeChelly, Coconino National Forest, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Saguaro Natonal Park and more. These are from Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. On one of the trails we were swarmed by gnats. My daughter stopped and raised one hand over her head. Amzingly, when the gnats rose up to her fingers, she pulled her arm down and walked away, leaving those pests behind and confused. She explained to me, "They want to go for the eyes but can be easily tricked into going for the uppermost part of your body. It's known as the Secret Code of Gnats." And that's just a tiny part of the story.

I have been to those parks.  Did you hike up to Delicate Arch?

Wendy, yes we did. I'll have to dig into my archives to find shots of it. I loved Arches NP as much as any place, but my favorite is Canyon DeChelly. So glad you've seen all of them. Another, which is not easily reached, is White Sands National Dunes. Just for you, I'm posting this one from Saguaro National Park near Tuscon.

Glad you figured out how to do text and pix on the same page.

Today in our travels we've probably taken shots of beautiful fountains.  Let's make that today's theme.

Thanks for playing along.  Stay Safe and Healthy!

Good morning from sunny California!

I am not uch of a traveler, so I don't have any memorable fountain pictures. However, I took this challenge very literally and found a short video of a favorite scene in the movie 'Sixteen Candles.' It involves a fountain. I haven't posted a YouTube link before and hope this works. Stay safe, all.

I  agree with Terri - it has been great fun not only going through old pics and reminiscing but also seeing what others have shared. We will need to do fountains again later because I have at least six that I would like to post but do not want to hog the message forum. I will do two today. These are from Italy in 2011.

Everyone should recognize the "Trotter Fountain" by Lorado Taft in Withers Park. It was created in 1911 and, although it seems different than it did when it stood next to Withers Library, it has never been moved. James Trotter, a former mayor of Bloomington, provided for it in his will to commemorate his family. This photo was taken in 2012, when the fountain was turned on for a special event celebrating its centennial. It has since been cleaned and its water pumps restored.

The second photo is a detail of Taft's "Great Lakes Fountain" in the south garden of the Art Institute of Chicago. In the summer months, I spent many lunch hours sitting in front of it while basking in the sun. It is still one of my secret hideaways and within walking distance of my home.

This is a photo of an Albino Sparrow feeding in our our yard most of the winter.  Stands out like a White bird with the other brown sparrows.  David Brock, Edwardsville

These donkeys were one of my favorite parts of our trip we took in 2010.  They are at Custer State Park.  They would come right up to your window and want food.  One time a Mom and her baby came up to the window.  The Mom pushed the babies head back so it couldn't get close, but as soon as the Mom turned her head away, the baby came close and stuck her head in.  Just like a kid!  haha

I don't think this was that  Mom's baby, because it is so small, not sure if it would be able to look in the window,  but just thought it was a darling picture so I included it. This is also Custer State Park.  That's not a long drive from here so I would love to go back there.
